The new precast flood defence walls and other works to the north of Severn Beach are complete. We have finished the installation of precast concrete flood defence walls to the south of Severn Beach and reopened footpaths to the public. To the south of the area near Chittening on the seaward side of the railway, we have completed the sheet-piled flood defence wall and installed habitat shelves on the wall. Between Severn Beach South and New Pill, we are continuing with finishing works, including the removal of the temporary access over the outfall pipelines. We have been progressing the landscaping works throughout this area and these are largely complete.
The works will reduce the risk to homes and businesses around Severn Beach from flooding.
For information on the temporary footpath closures in this area, see here.
